The trees grow to a height of approximately 8 meters.

Cereus stenogonus is an evergreen plant. The flowers are funnel-shaped and pink. The flowers are arranged solitary.

The fruits are edible berries.

Uses

Fruits and stems of Cereus repandus are edible. Its wood has been used in making furniture and for firewood, and sliced stems have been used as a soap substitute. It is cultivated as a living fence also.

Cereus stenogonus is native to east Bolivia, Paraguay and north Argentina.

Cereus stenogonus prefers a sunny site and can withstand temperatures down to -6,6º C. It grows best in soils that are dry.
